Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data www.sports24.us (including its subdomains, together the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and the rights you have. The data controller is the operator of www.sports24.us, reachable at [email protected]. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data (Google sign-in). Members register exclusively with a Google account. When you click “Continue with Google”, Google shares with us your email address, display name and profile picture. We use this to create and operate your account, secure your session, and attribute your community activity (votes, predictions, chat).
  • Email use. Your Google email address is used for registration and account administration. We may also email you service announcements and promotional messages from www.sports24.us, such as match alerts, new features, and selected offers from our partners, typically no more than once a week. These emails are always sent by us: we never sell or share your email address with partners or any other third party. Promotional emails are optional, and you can unsubscribe at any time with one click via the link in every message, or by contacting [email protected].
  • Push notifications (optional). If you turn on alerts, your browser gives us a push token for www.sports24.us. We store that token, the site you subscribed on, your browser language and time zone, the matches and teams you follow, whether you want news alerts, and how many alerts we sent you today. We use them only to send the alerts you chose: a reminder 15 minutes before kick-off and, if you switch it on, one notification when a round of new articles is published — at most three alerts a day in total. Notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Switch alerts off from the bell on any match page, the news alerts button, or your browser's site settings; tokens that stop working are deleted automatically.
  • Engagement data. Votes, score predictions, reactions and chat messages you submit are stored with your account.
  • Technical data. IP address, browser/user-agent and request logs, used for security, rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

2. Cookies, cache and similar technologies

  • Essential cookies. A session cookie (ws_session) keeps you signed in. It is required for member features and is not used for tracking.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, country, device); it sets its own cookies/identifiers. We also run our own first-party visit counter, hosted on this site and shared with no one: a small request to www.sports24.us for each page view and while a page stays open. It records, in aggregate, the page path, the referring site, the country (derived from the network, never a precise location) and the device type. Where storage is permitted it keeps a random identifier in your browser’s local storage (rs_vid, plus the date marker rs_vad) so that one visitor is counted once. Our server never stores that identifier, your IP address or your browser details — only a hash that changes every day and cannot be linked from one day to the next. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the identifier is created only after you consent to storage; otherwise the visit is counted without storing anything on your device, using a daily-changing hash derived from your IP address and browser type.
  • Advertising cookies. We display advertising to keep the Service free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of some other third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
  • Affiliate links (Amazon Associates). www.sports24.us takes part in the Amazon Associates Program and earns a commission on qualifying purchases made through links to Amazon (for example a Prime Video offer). When you click such a link, Amazon may set cookies and use similar technologies on its own sites to attribute a later purchase to us. Amazon shares with us only aggregate reports (which products were bought and the commission earned) — never your identity, your account or your order details. Once you are on an Amazon site, Amazon’s own privacy notice applies.
  • Other ad partners. Some of our sites may work with additional third-party advertising partners, whose technology may set cookies and — only if you explicitly accept the browser prompt — send push notifications via a service worker. You can withdraw push permission at any time in your browser settings.
  • Cache. Public pages are cached at the network edge (Cloudflare) to make the Service fast. Cached copies never include your private, signed-in responses.

3. Legal bases (EEA/UK users — GDPR)

  • Contract — operating your account and the community features you request.
  • Consent — personalised advertising and promotional email where required by law; you may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics that do not override your rights.

4. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account — we respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

5. Sharing and international transfers

We share data only with the processors needed to run the Service: Google (sign-in, Analytics, AdSense), third-party advertising partners (as described above), Amazon (affiliate links — when you click one, Amazon learns that you arrived from our site; see section 2), and Cloudflare (content delivery and security). These providers may process data outside your country; where required, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data.

6. Retention

Account and engagement data are kept while your account exists and deleted upon verified request. Technical logs are kept briefly for security. Expired match and event data are purged from our systems automatically.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has registered, contact [email protected] and we will remove the account.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date below reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site.

9. Contact

All privacy questions and requests: [email protected] — the official channel for every form of communication regarding this website.
