How to Watch the Tunisian Ligue 1 in France in 2026-27

No television channel in France carries the Tunisian Ligue 1. Not Canal+, not beIN Sports, not a Free or Orange bouquet add-on. If you are in Paris, Lyon or Marseille and you want to see Espérance, Club Africain or Étoile du Sahel live this season, the realistic answer is a Tunisian app that happens to sell to you in euros — Diwan Sport, which lists in-app purchases from €3 for a single match on the French App Store.

That is the short version, and it is worth saying plainly up front because most guides to this question pad it out with services that do not actually hold the rights. Here is the full picture, including what we could verify and what we could not.

Which channel carries the Tunisian Ligue 1 in France

None. There is no French rights holder for the Ligue Professionnelle 1.

The rights sit entirely with Tunisian and Qatari parties. In September 2025 the Fédération Tunisienne de Football published a list of the only authorised broadcasters of Ligue 1, and it named three:

• Télévision Tunisienne — the national broadcaster, through Watania 1 and Watania 2
• Diwan Sport — the digital platform
• Al Kass (Qatar) and its Shoof platform, with 30 matches

The Télévision Tunisienne agreement covers the 2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, so the same three names apply to the campaign that kicked off on 22 August 2026 with 16 clubs.

What about the French sports channels? beIN Sports France sells at around €15 a month with no commitment and its own marketing lists Ligue 2 BKT, the Coupe de France, the Bundesliga, Liga Portugal, the Süper Lig and — exclusively — the Africa Cup of Nations 2027. The Tunisian Ligue 1 is not on that list. Canal+ carries the UEFA Champions League in France, which is a different competition entirely; if that is what you are actually looking for, our Champions League guide covers it.

So: no French channel, no French add-on, no French streaming tier. The route out of France runs through Tunisia.

How to live stream Espérance de Tunis matches from France

Diwan Sport is the one rights holder that bills a viewer in France in euros.

Diwan Sport launched in March 2023 as Tunisia's first sports streaming platform, having won the digital rights to Ligue 1 and the Coupe de Tunisie. It sells access match by match rather than only as a season subscription, which suits a diaspora viewer who wants six Espérance matches a year rather than all thirty.

The checkable part is the app store listing. The DiwanSports app is available on the French App Store, and Apple publishes its in-app purchase prices in euros. Checked on 22 September 2026, with the app on version 882 and updated within the previous week:

Two honest caveats. First, Apple listing a price in euros confirms that you can buy from France; it is not a contractual guarantee that every match will play from a French IP address. Diwan Sport does not publish a territory list, and its website is a JavaScript application with no static pricing or availability page we could read. Second, Apple does not spell out what the €5 pack or the €40 premium voucher contain. Buy the €3 single-match voucher first, on a night Espérance are playing, before you spend €25 or €30 on a season.

The Tunisian route is cheaper and useless to you. Ooredoo Tunisia sells Diwan Sport at 0.450 TND a day with auto-renewal and a one-day free trial, or 4.5 TND for a single match, activated by dialling *443*1#. Tunisie Telecom customers subscribe through *352*1#. Both are carrier-billed and need a Tunisian mobile line, which is precisely why the euro in-app purchase exists.

One thing Diwan Sport does not cover: Espérance in the CAF Champions League. For the 2025-26 final, CAF's own broadcaster announcement listed beIN Sports as covering France. CAF had not published a territory-by-territory list for 2026-27 when we checked, so confirm before subscribing — but beIN, not Diwan, is the French-side answer for continental nights.

Where to watch Club Africain vs Espérance (the Tunis derby)

The derby is the one fixture where people plan ahead, so here is what is actually knowable in September.

In Tunisia, the derby goes to national television. Watania's coverage of the 2026-27 opening weekend was total: all eight matches of matchday 1 were carried across Watania 1 and Watania 2, live or delayed, with Espérance vs Étoile du Sahel live on Watania 1 and ES Métlaoui vs Club Africain live on Watania 2. Al Kass also takes live league matches — Stade Tunisien vs Club Africain on 17 September 2026 was listed on Watania 1 and Al Kass 2. Expect the derby on Watania 1, very likely simulcast on Al Kass, and on Diwan Sport digitally.

In France, the answer is the same as for any other league match: Diwan Sport, or nothing.

The part nobody can tell you in September is which channel, because the Tunisian league publishes its per-match broadcast assignments only days in advance, and the 2026-27 derby dates were not fixed on any source we opened. The practical method is to check the matchday television guide — Tunisie Tribune publishes one before each round, and Watania announces its own selections — in the week of the match.

Kick-off times. Tunisia stays on UTC+1 all year and does not use daylight saving. France is one hour ahead until the clocks go back on 25 October 2026, then level with Tunis. The legal options, ranked by how confident we are in them:

1. Diwan Sport in euros. Verified pricing, verified availability on the French App Store, verified rights. This is the recommendation.

2. Watania's own free stream — unconfirmed. Télévision Tunisienne runs a live section on tunisiatv.tn, and the El Watania 1 entry lists a broadcast area that includes the European Union. We could not load the live player itself to confirm whether football is included in the online feed or excluded from it for rights reasons, and whether it plays from France. It costs nothing to test on a match night, so test it — but do not plan your season around it.

3. Satellite — probably not, on a French dish. Al Kass publishes its own frequency table, and it lists Al Kass One to Four on Nilesat at 7.3° West and Badr at 26° East, with channels Five to Eight on Es'hailSat at 26° East. Hotbird 13° East, the satellite the overwhelming majority of French installations point at, is not on that list. A standard French satellite setup will not find Al Kass without a second dish aimed elsewhere, and reception of those positions from France depends on beam and dish size. Five of Al Kass's eleven channels are free-to-air; six are encrypted inside beIN.

4. Highlights and reaction. Official club and platform channels post goals and post-match content for free. It is not the match, but it is legal and it is free.

On VPNs. Many streaming services prohibit them in their terms of use, and using one can get a paid account closed with no refund; it also does not create a right to content that was never licensed for your country. More to the point here, it is unnecessary: the rights holder for this league sells to France in euros. Pay the €3.
